ADHD Therapist for Women in Greensboro, NC | Kristen McClure, LCSW
Neurodivergent-affirming telehealth therapy for women in Greensboro and the Triad
If you are in Greensboro, North Carolina and looking for a therapist who specializes in ADHD in adult women, I offer telehealth therapy for women across NC — including Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and the surrounding Triad region.
ADHD Therapy for Women in Greensboro, NC
Finding a clinician who understands how ADHD actually presents in adult women — not the hyperactive child version, but the adult woman who compensated for decades and is now burned out, or who just received a diagnosis at 40 and is making sense of her whole life through a new lens — can be genuinely difficult.
That is the work I specialize in. I have 31 years of clinical experience working with women with ADHD, anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma. I understand the internalized presentation. The high masking. The late diagnosis. The particular exhaustion of a nervous system that has been running on override for too long.
Why Telehealth Works for ADHD
I work exclusively via secure telehealth, which means women in Greensboro and across the Triad can access specialized ADHD therapy without commuting, without managing the logistics of an unfamiliar office, and without the executive demands that getting somewhere on time places on an ADHD nervous system.
For many women with ADHD, their own home is the most regulated environment they have. Telehealth meets them there.
All sessions are HIPAA-compliant.
What I Work With
ADHD in women — late diagnosis, high masking, burnout, twice-exceptional presentations. Anxiety, OCD, depression, and trauma as they overlap with ADHD. AuDHD, rejection sensitive dysphoria, hormonal transitions including PMDD and perimenopause, and the relational impact of a lifetime with an unrecognized ADHD nervous system.
My Approach
Explicitly neurodivergent-affirming. Not deficit-based. I do not treat ADHD as a disorder to be managed into neurotypical function. I treat it as a nervous system that works differently — and help women build lives that actually fit how their brains work.
Fees and Insurance
$110/session | 55 minutes | Most BCBS plans accepted | Superbills available for out-of-network reimbursement
Frequently Asked Questions
Reach me by email or through my Psychology Today profile. Because I work via telehealth, I see women throughout North Carolina — Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, and surrounding Triad communities included.
No — all sessions are via telehealth. This allows me to serve women across the full state without geographic restriction.
Yes. ADHD and anxiety are frequently intertwined, and treating one without understanding the other often leaves women stuck. I have specialized experience with both, including OCD — which co-occurs with ADHD more often than most clinicians realize.
It means I approach ADHD as a nervous system difference, not a deficit. The goal is not to help you function more like a neurotypical person. It is to help you build a life that fits how you actually work.
I accept most BCBS plans. For other insurance, I provide superbills for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Contact your insurer to ask about mental health benefits.
