Currently we understand anxiety by dividing it up into different categories, which have different clusters of symptoms.
We actually think many of these categories overlap, and it’s more likely that everything occurs on a spectrum than that anxiety fits into discrete categories.

People with generalized anxiety disorder may expect disaster ( what we call catastrophize) and may be overly concerned about money, health, family, work, or other issues. People with generalized anxiety disorder control their worry.

Panic disorder happens when women experience panic attacks out of the blue and sometimes in their sleep. Women then become preoccupied with having panic attacks again because it is such a frightening experience where they are sometimes afraid they are having a heart attack.

The ADDA defines Obsessions as ” intrusive and unwanted thoughts, images, or urges” and they cause anxiety. Compulsions are “behaviors ” the persons does in order to feel better or stop thoughts. Some compulsions are behaviors while others are things a person might do with their mind.
