Teen anxiety NEW
by: Chris Gridley

My 17 year old is going through similar things. Suddenly he doesn’t want to go to school, he’s constantly in the bathroom, always complaining that his stomach hurts, doesn’t seem to have any energy or want to do anything. I took him to the dr, they couldn’t find anything physically wrong with him. He’s always done well in school, now he’s halfway through his senior year and wants to give up and do online school. I know he’s a bit of a loner, and had issues with his best friend last year over a girl, they shared friends and the friends won’t stand up for him, so he’s really isolated. On one hand I don’t want to torment him and force him to go to school where he’s getting so much anxiety, but on the other hand I don’t want to teach him that it’s ok just to give up, especially when he’s so close to being done. Staying at home will also further isolate him. I’m so torn
